TENANTS IN COMMON (TIC) ADDED TO THE STATE ISSUES TRACKER
The tracking of tenants in common (TIC) law has been added to the NAR State Issues Tracker. Included in this analysis is how states handles the issue of nonsecuritized TICs, TIC ownership, and how TICs are transferred or sold within a state. The State Issues Tracker is a fully searchable electronic database where the laws of all 50 states are collected and updated annually for thirteen "Core Real Estate Issues", such as minimum services, license reciprocity, transfer taxes, and home inspector laws. In addition, five "Emerging Real Estate Issues", minimum service laws, eminent domain, the sale of real estate by banks, sales tax applying to real estate commissions, and insurance underwriting, are tracked and updated on a monthly basis.
