The City of Cherry Hills Village has the following Boards and Commissions:

  • Board of Adjustment and Appeals of Adjustments meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Center.
  • Planning & Zoning Commission meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
  • Parks, Trails & Recreation Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Center

All meetings are held at the Village Center, 2450 E. Quincy Avenue.

Parks and Recreation Board Vacancy

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is seeking a candidate to fill a term ending in March 2009. As a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board member, there is an opportunity to bring ideas and perspective on parks and recreation in Golden to the table on behalf of fellow citizens. The Board strives to have a diverse group of members which touch many different demographics within Golden. Board members also have the ability to interact as liaisons with other citizen groups including the Walkability Task Force, the Bicycle Master Plan Task Force, and the Planning Commission to name a few. Potential applicants are welcome to attend a regular meeting to witness the Board in action.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was established by the City Council in 1982 and serves in an advisory capacity to the Planning Commission and City Council regarding the development, expansion and growth of the parks and recreational facilities within the city. The Board includes seven regular members and one alternate. All candidates must be residents of the City of Golden.

Regular meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each calendar month at 7:00 p.m. Study sessions are currently held on the first Tuesday of each month and special meetings may be called as necessary.

Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Interviews are tentatively scheduled to be held at the City Council Study Session, in the evening, Thursday, July 17, 2008, in the council chambers at City Hall, 911 10th Street. Appointment is by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the City Council.
