Sec. 18-998 – Enforcement
Currently the Police Department or the Bu8ilding and Codes Director or designee has the authority to dispose of authorized signs removed from the public-rights-of-way ten days after removal without.
The proposed change eliminates the ten-day holding period and gives the Police Department or the Building and Codes Director or designee the authority to remove and dispose of any sign in violation without notice to any person.
Section 18-1046 – General Provisions
Currently a permit sticker is required for signs located in the public right-of-way.
Currently a permit sticker permit is required to each separate sign place in the public right-of-way
Currently a permit sticker fee is charged for each permit sticker.
The proposed change requires NO permit required for signs located or private property or in the public-rights of way.
Real estate signs placed by realtors and home sales signs placed by homebuilders are all addressed as “real estate signs” in the City Code.
The requirement for liability insurance for temporary signs was removed in a Code amendment in 2002. While it did exist previously, it hasn’t been there for quite a while.
